Director:

Paul A. Tenkotte, PhD serves as Director of the Orville Project. He is a Professor of History and Gender Studies at Northern Kentucky University. Tenkotte has published 16 books, contributed chapters and essays to 13 additional books, and written/edited more than 600 articles and book reviews for a wide range of publications. His specialties include Ohio River Valley history, historic preservation, and urban history. He has participated in 22 television documentaries, including his 2018 national PBS debut, Ten That Changed America: Engineering Marvels. Paul’s textbook, The United States since 1865: Information Literacy and Critical Thinking, was published in 2022 by Kendall Hunt. Associate Director:

John Schlipp serves as Associate Director of the Orville Project. He is a Professor and Intellectual Property Librarian at Georgia Southern University Libraries in Statesboro and Savannah. Schlipp oversees Intellectual Property and Government Information there, as well as serves as Instructional Lead for the new Information Studies credit-bearing course entitled INFO 2350 Workforce Ready: Introduction to Metaliteracy Skills. He specializes in research and instruction related to intellectual property and business resources. His textbook, entitled Intellectual Property and Information Rights for Librarians, was published in 2019 by ABC Clio/Bloomsbury. John’s research contributions include scholarly articles, book reviews, and book chapters. He also researches and publishes about Ohio River Valley regional music, media, and business history for various encyclopedias, book chapters, and online columns such as the “Our Rich History” series in the Northern Kentucky Tribune (Metro Cincinnati): https://www.nkytribune.com/?s=schlipp. He is an editorial board member for the Journal of the Patent & Trademark Resource Center Association. Feel free to contact John at jschlipp@georgiasouthern.edu.
